Welcome one, welcome all to my first true blog. I felt inspired to blog by both my recent college graduation from Transylvania University in Lexington, KY and my impending 10 months - 1 year-long journey to Seattle, WA to be a part of City Year. Though I am currently typing away in the comfort of my childhood home in Tennessee, I already miss my friends, family, and colleagues back in Lexington, Maryville (dispersed as they may be), and Nashville. Hopefully this blog will not only keep you up to date on my adventures during the coming year, but you'll also get a good laugh every now and then as well. Why? Well, I don't think anyone can get through a 2,600 mile move without a giggle every now and then, and laughter is always best shared.
At any rate, I suppose I should get into why I felt like I should join City Year...but that will have to wait until a later date. Until then, I'd like to get started on the humor train by posting a video of last night's Colbert Report, guest-starring one of my favorite childhood friends and the blame for my picky eating habits, Cookie Monster.
